We recently reported on the results of the PHCA Membership Survey which we conducted in January.
Using the Survey results, we have had some deliberations about the need for and future of the PHCA and what it should be doing.
We have concluded that the publication of a monthly newsletter/blog – The Port Hope Citizen – reporting on MPH Council’s activities and decisions would be the most valuable role we can play.
The present PHCA management committee has the expertise to both create and publish a monthly newsletter. What it does not have is the manpower to assume complete responsibility for the newsletter.
However, there is a way we can achieve our vision and that is with the help of you, our members.
The publication of any newsletter requires the input from a number of people performing many small roles. Surprisingly, in many cases, the roles do not require any prior skills other than interest in the community, inquisitiveness and initiative.
So, if you enjoy any one of the following:
- Talking to and interviewing people
- Finding out newsworthy information
- Pursuing a lead for a story
- Writing short news articles
- Taking photographs to illustrate your writings
you are the person we are looking for!
Be part of something new! Come to an information meeting to hear how you can become involved in YOUR publication, either on a project or a role basis.
